Spike Dodge
Spike Dodge is a fast-paced arcade survival game. Spikes rain from above — your only job is to not die.
Move your character around the arena, dodge incoming spikes, and collect powerups to stay alive longer. The longer you survive, the faster they fall and the more that spawn. Every spike you dodge earns points, and chaining dodges without getting hit builds your combo multiplier up to 5x.
10 Powerups drop at random, each with a different rarity:
- Shield — absorb one hit
- Shrink — smaller hitbox, harder to hit
- Phase Shift — ghost through spikes entirely
- Spike Breaker — destroy spikes on contact
- Speed Boost — move faster
- Slow Motion — everything slows down
- Time Warp — freeze all spikes in place
- Double Points — 2x score per dodge
- Magnet — pulls nearby powerups toward you
- Dimension Shift — halves spike spawn rate and shifts the visual palette
4 Difficulty Modes from Easy to Insane, each with different spike speeds, spawn rates, combo decay timing, and score multipliers. Higher difficulty = higher risk, higher reward.
Bonus Score Events happen automatically based on the real-world clock. Play on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday for 2x score. Catch Happy Hour (6โ9PM) for 1.5x. During the holidays (Dec 20 โ Jan 2) it's 3x. All bonuses stack — a Friday night in December could mean 9x scoring.
13 Achievements track your milestones across sessions — hit score thresholds, max out your combo, survive long runs, and more.
After each run, full session stats break down your spikes dodged, powerups collected, close calls, shield saves, max combo, and whether you pulled off a perfect run.

๐ Engine Optimizations — Rewrote spike processing, distance checks, and powerup flag lookups for significantly less work per frame.
๐ง Smooth Difficulty Ramp — Speed increases 20x more frequently in tiny steps instead of noticeable jumps every second.
๐ Fixed Shrink Bug — Shrink powerup was accidentally making spikes smaller too. Now only affects the player as intended.
๐ก๏ธ Movement Fix — Player can no longer overshoot past screen edges at high speeds.
